One of the most beautiful aspects of music is its ability to connect complete strangers across the barriers of culture, language, space and even time. In a year where travel restrictions, cancelled flights, curfews, lockdowns and isolation have become the norm, it becomes more important than ever that we continue to nurture and build these connections with people that share our passions....
Grooves entrenched in the deep recesses of dance floor archetypes; sonic landscapes thriving in the stark progressions of minimalism; and visceral arrangements touching on some deep emotive charge, this is the sound of Sous-Vide, the newest addition to the Norwegian clubbing landscape. The club concept and label with mighty aspirations in club culture, from festivals to community outreach efforts was launched last month with an event at Jaeger featuring Thomas Skjærstad, Dolbah, Rado, Pål Thomas and Ida B....
Bulgarian artist Factuaw is next up to present his skills on Sous-Vide Records and with Octave and Lucide going before him and Maxim Thierry before that. Now on their 7th edition, the deeper lush side of the imprint has a great flow at the moment and Factauw’s four-track EP nails the space-tinged leftfield minimal path....
Sous-Vide Records ear for sublime rollers is well documented especially within these pages and the latest EP speaks volumes of this. The Norwegian label often encapsulates essences of its often icey landscape and melds it to slick production and ethereal atmospheres. Next to deliver for Sous-Vide is the duo of Skjaerstad and Dolbah and their entry in the SV discography....

Already several releases in on Bandcamp, the Norwegian imprint is now set to launch a vinyl only platform. Welcome steps in a country that currently has a rather modest minimal scene. Asael Weiss of Tel Aviv supplies the first edition of the catalogue, backing the SVR resolve to spread the music and grow the community....
Leading out Maxim Thierry’s 3-track EP for Sous-Vide Records is the sublime deep houser ‘Saint Marie’. Verby percussion and a muted pad set the tone for the track and also the rest of the EP. Synthy piano chords are soon joined by accompanying musical elements to produce a perfectly rounded picture of a shimmering deep house bomb....
Thomas is an energetic enthusiast who in recent years has been active both at home and abroad. Played festivals such as Electric Castle, Sommerøya and internationally renowned venues such as Sisyphos, Metro Dance Club and Drugstore. Together with running the SVR label he is also the founder of the projects Nomaden and UMAMI. which has established itself well in Oslo's nightlife....
